This course is focused on bootstrap methods and their application for data analysis using R. We cover the following topics:

  • Sampling for a population and the accuracy of the sample mean.

  • The basic bootstrap algorithm.

  • Bootstrap confidence intervals.

  • Bootstrap tests.

  • Permutation tests:

  • Estimation of bias.

  • Cross-validation of prediction error.

  • The Jackknife.

  • Linear regression & GLMs.

  • Non-parametric regression.
